Chat in Any Language: Live Translation and MarbleMap's AI Layer

In the natural stone trade, the real work starts after the demand goes live and the offers come in: the negotiation. And negotiation lives in messaging. The catch is that when the buyer sits in Amsterdam and the supplier in Afyon, more than distance stands between them — there is a language barrier. In this episode of the MarbleMap product tour we walk through the platform's chat experience and live translation, and the video shows the whole flow on the real product.

No global inbox: every conversation belongs to a demand

On MarbleMap, messaging does not pile up in a noisy global inbox — it lives directly under the demand. If you opened a request for a hotel project in Amsterdam, you go to that demand's cockpit and open the Messages tab, where every bidding supplier gets its own conversation row. A dot marks the thread with fresh activity, and even the preview of the last message arrives already translated. Negotiations with several suppliers each stay in their own lane, none of them bleed into each other, and all of them remain tied to a single demand.

Live translation: your supplier writes Turkish, you read English

This is one of the strongest moments of the video. The supplier writes their messages in Turkish; the buyer reads the very same messages in English. Translation is automatic and happens as the message is sent — nobody presses a button, nobody waits for an interpreter. And nothing is hidden: under every translated incoming message sits an Original toggle, and one click opens the Turkish source so you can always check what was actually written. To keep key decisions from drifting out of sight, a pinned message strip stays at the top of the conversation.

Replying is just as effortless. You type in English, and the supplier reads it in their own language on their own screen. Speaking one language is enough to trade stone globally.

The details that keep long negotiations tidy

In a negotiation that stretches across weeks, small tools make a big difference. Ticks tell you the state of everything you send: sent, delivered, read. Wrote something wrong? You can edit your own message. Reached a critical agreement? Pin it. And when you need to dig up an old detail weeks later, there is full-text search — it works on both the original and the translated text.

Negotiation is not a solo job either. Next to the participant list in the conversation header sits an invite button: you can bring a teammate from your own company into the same thread. Your logistics manager discusses packing while you focus on price, and the conversation still stays tied to the demand — nobody gets lost in email chains.

Translation is only one part of the AI layer

AI on MarbleMap is not squeezed into a single feature; it runs as a layer across the platform. When you write a demand, AI can draft the title and description for you — we showed it in the second video of this series. Every piece of content passes AI screening before it goes live; what fails the screening is never published, and repeat offenders are suspended. And in offer evaluation, the AI recommendation stands ready with its reasoning. The principle never changes: AI recommends, you decide.

One platform, thirteen languages

The MarbleMap interface speaks thirteen languages: English, Turkish, Estonian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Azerbaijani, Greek, Arabic and Italian. The video's subtitles are available in the same thirteen languages. Live translation is available on Pro and higher plans, while what you write yourself is always visible on every plan. Your demand, your offers and your negotiation — all in one place, in your own language.

Find the right stone, with the right partner

MarbleMap is a commission-free, sealed-bid B2B marketplace for natural stone. If you are a buyer, opening a demand is always free: describe your project, receive sealed offers, and run the negotiation in your own language.
